Where are you located?
North of Bottineau, North Dakota, on the East side of Lake Metigoshe, next to the A-Frame Bar and Grill and across the road from The Quilt Inn Hotel and Four Seasons Country Store.
How many people can you seat?
Indoors can comfortably seat 155, while the connecting covered pavilion offers up space for an additional 40, totaling 195. If additional seating is required we have tent rentals available through an outside vendor and The Lake House has chairs/tables for up to 250.
How can I reserve a date?
Your date is reserved upon signing of the contract and the initial payment has been received.
What is included in the rental fee?
We highly recommend the 3-day wedding rental and that price includes full use of the building; assembly area, loft, deck, couple's dressing room, couple's overnight suite, courtyard, and parking lot. Tables and chairs for 250 people. Bridal parties love this option and use the facility for decorating, rehearsal dinner, family gatherings, morning brunch, gift opening, etc. You are also welcome to use any decor available including our outdoor arch, indoor arch, and whiskey barrels. New decor being added ongoing. The caterer's kitchen and bar area are also included in your 3-day wedding rental. Tablecloths are available for your use for an additional fee. We have 150 folding white wedding chairs suitable for indoor/outdoor use. We have 100 wood crossback chairs (which are not allowed outside).
Are dressing rooms available?
We offer a beautiful couple's dressing room on the lower level of The Lake House with no additional charge with your 3-day rental or for an additional fee of $100 with your 1-day rental; equipped with mirrors, dressing tables, bathroom, and a lounging area. We also have the overnight suite which can be used for getting ready, as well as the loft/lounge area in the main building that are included with your 3-day rental, or for $100/night with your 1-day rental.
Do you provide food options/kitchen facilities?
We recommend our local caterers The Prairie Bistro & Bakeshop (Mohall), Marie’s in Bottineau, or LT's Dockside at Lake Metigoshe, as well as Grove's Catering (Rugby), and Hometown Elegance (Minot). However, any licensed caterer of your choice is welcome, or you are welcome to provide your own food with a signed food liability waiver. Our caterer's prep kitchen offers a 3-compartment sink, hand washing station, refrigerator, stove/oven and ample counterspace. The kitchen is included in your 3-day wedding rental, or for an additional fee of $100 for a 1-day wedding rental or nonwedding events.
What are the alcohol arrangements?
Event bar service can be arranged with an outside vendor (The A-Frame Bar and Grill) - discuss with Donnet - or you are welcome to provide your own alcohol and hire our certified bar tenders to serve. The bar area use fee is included in your 3-day wedding rental, or for an additional fee of $200 with the 1-day wedding rental and nonwedding events and includes a 12x14 walk-in cooler and bar area equipped with an ice maker, reverse osmosis water, and 3-compartment sink.
What are the requirements for a band or DJ?
Private parties are allowed a DJ or band. Entertainment must be finished by midnight and out of the building by 1am. We have a dance floor in the main assembly area. If you desire an outdoor event, the band or DJ must be under a tent.
ALL BANDS/DJs MUST BE APPROVED IN ADVANCE BY MANAGEMENT.
Are we required to have security?
If alcohol is to be consumed on the premises during your wedding event, you are required to hire security through the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Dept. Please contact them to make arrangements at 701-228-2740 at least 30 DAYS PRIOR to your event.
Is the building climate controlled?
Yes, heat and central air.
Is the building handicap accessible?
Yes, the main level is accessible and equipped with two handicap restrooms.
Is there a designated smoking area?
Yes, located on the south side of the event center.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, if your pet is part of your wedding or event we encourage you to bring them along.
When are you open?
We are open by appointment only all year around. Are you planning a winter wedding? We offer a discounted off-season price and can accommodate your event by special arrangement with ample notice, please contact us!
Can you create a small, intimate setting at your venue?
Yes! We are equipped to accommodate smaller weddings or events. You can do it all in one location at The Lake House!
